i actually have three in the sisters area.
1) Kokanee Cafe (casual, charming restaurant)
2) Black Butte Lodge (casual, fine dining)
3) Suttle Lake Marina (rustic lakeside log cabin)
black butte lodge has beautiful views of a pond and surrouning mountains, plus great service.

suttle lake marina is right on a quiet lake. we reserved the second floor where we had a private eating area, perfect for letting kids run around. great oven-baked pizza. but the view of sunset over the lake is the best. in this part of the world the salmon is always excellent. i had pan-fried oysters at the black butte lodge which where excellent (they are fresh from washington state).

4 things that are can't...

4 things that are can't misses:
1) visit suttle lake. you can camp out along the lake or take the hiking loop around the lake. takes about 1 1/2 hours. stop in at the marina for a snack or lunch.
2) visit the camp sherman fish hatchery. a working hatchery where you see how fish are raised. you can feed the fish and watch them jump for your food. kids love it! located on the beautiful metolius river.
3) visit the headwaters of the metolius river. crystal clear water bubbles right out of the ground and is the start of some of the best trout fishing in america.
4) also, if you are a hiker, you can climb to the top of black butte. takes about 3 hours round trip and you enjoy a 360 degree view.
