Springfield, Oregon
Springfield, Oregon has a "retro," 1950's feel, with antique shops, cafes & restaurants decorated with mid-20th Century memorabilia, like the Pump House Cafe (old gas station converted to pricey restaurant) or the Busy Bee (James Dean & Marilyn Monroe, 45 LPs on the walls; old-timers & regulars at the counter most mornings). It has bike and walking trails, Splash Swim Park, great schools, and is connected in many ways with larger sister city of neighboring Eugene, making the metro area the second largest in Oregon (total pop. +/-230,000) Main Street stretches "forever". Very green, with both ranches and Malls, health food stores & pubs. (See Eugene.com for more info)
