Travel Tips for Sutherlin
Hidden Beauty

"Not a bad place to stop..."
Sutherlin is a small former lumber mill (the mill burned down several years ago) on U.S. Interstate 5 a few miles north of Roseburg and about an hour south of Eugene. Set in a beautiful valley between the Cascades and Coastal mountain ranges, Sutherlin is a sleepy town but with some friendly eateries and at least one very inexpensive and immacculately clean hotel. This would be an excellent place for an overnight stop for the traveler traveling between points south (San Francisco, Sacramento) and points north (Portland, Seattle). But don't miss out on some of the beautiful scenery, a historic town (Oakland) just a few miles away, and a gorgeous covered bridge not far from the I-5 off ramp.
A stop along the way

"A good place to rest"
On a long drive from Novato, California to Abbotsford, BC, this seemed to be a good place to stop for the night. It was 10:30pm, we'd been driving for 6 1/2 hours, and the bright lights of the hotel and restaurant grabbed our attention. We were sucked in.
All in all? It was a good experience and I'd recommend it as a rest stop to anyone.
"Magic mushroom gifts?"
The sculptures do make you wonder...
