We camped one night at Valley of the Rogue State Park. The park is sandwiched in between the scenic Rogue River and the not-so-scenic Interstate 5 and features a large campground, trails along the river, picnic areas, areas for sports, and more.
We enjoyed camping here at the quiet little family campground. The restroom and shower facilities are actually better than those in Yosemite (except for the limited shower hours). Our only problem was the drunk guys who showed up at 2am and were yelling and swearing all night. They got kicked out at 7am when the ranger showed up, but not until after they ruined most everyone's night.
There are four camping areas in the park, three RV campgrounds one area for tents with about 21 spaces. The rate for tents is $16 per site in the summer with clean and convenient restroom and shower facilities, fire pits and picnic tables at each site. The tent sites are located just steps from the river where people fish and swim, and the trail makes a great place for a morning jog. The shower facilities are closed at night from around 9pm to 7am.
