Spending Christmas with our family and grand daughter in Aurora, IL was magical...but we're expected back to work. Watching the Weather Channel on Christmas Eve, we were about to be hit with a nice size snow storm, right when we were getting ready to hit the road and drive back to NJ. Just hitting rain on the way out, resulted in numerous accidents at which we were stopped for over an hour on the turnpike. So to avoid hassles, we left on Christmas.
We drove until we were just too tired. Still three hours from home, neither of us had to gusto to continue on. So, we stopped at Carlisle for the night.
