Jim's Market in the old railorad roundhouse is a real farmer's market. It is open only during the day on Friday and Saturday. You will find many Amish and Mennonite specialties. They have the best bratwurst (farmer's sausage) you can find!
Churches of Chambersburg

The sign reads:
This church, the third building, stands on the site of a log church built in 1780 by the Lutheran and Reformed and used jointly by the congregations till 1808. The land was donated by Benjamin Chambers.
Central Presbyterian Church was organized in 1868. The following year the church acquired one of the vacant lots that was cleared by the fire of 1864. This lot across from the county courthouse had previously been home to the Franklin Hotel. The construction was completed in 1784.
Organized in 1778, this church's first pastor traveled from Hagerstown to preach. Construction began in 1811 on land granted by Benjamin Chambers. A beautiful crystal chandelier built in 1813 graces the building. The church survived the burning of the town, and its spire, modeled after a design by Sir Christopher Wren, was used as an observation point.
The church has a unique provision in that the deed states the church must pay an annual "rent" of one rose from the church's garden to a surviving member of the Chambers family. Each June the church has Rose Rent Sunday, where this tradition continues uninterrupted since 1780.
