I'll be doing a two week stay in Cranberry Township, PA for work-related manufacturing inspection during the second half of February, 2008.
I'm looking for tips on interesting places to see while I am there.
I note that Niagara Falls is a short drive (4 hours or so) for a Saturday. Any historical sites or culturally significant things to see?
Spend some time in Pittsburgh. There are two good art museums (the Carnegie Museum and the Andy Warhol Museum), a good natural history museum (largest collection of dinosaurs in the USA), the Phipps Conservatory, the Aviary, and the University of Pittsburgh's Cathedral of Learning and Heinz Chapel. If you like a good view, take the Incline to the top of Mount Washington and get a great view of downtown Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh also has an excellent symphony orchestra, if you like classical music.
About two hours southeast of Pittsburgh is Fallingwater, Frank Lloyd Wright's famous house. Kentuck Knob, another Frank LLoyd Wright house is near Fallingwater.
These are great ideas. Thank you!
