Must Have
Whatever In summer bring a jacket and pants, it can get chilly in the evening because of the Lake. If it is late summer don't worry .
Winter.... think of yourself on the back of a dogsled running a race, dress that way.

Presque Isle is a long Island on Lake Erie. It has the Most Beautiful Beaches and a 10 mile Bike Parth that is flat and super. No Entrance Fee and I stopped at a Beach Shop and the Food Prices were reasonable. Ya Gotta go there.
I spent the first twenty years of my life at 909 East 9th Street, Erie, PA. Extremely shielded from many outside experiences and grew up very unaware of what the world was all about. My grade school and church was only a block away from my home which I went to all twenty years (the church). Went to the school until the eighth grade.
I came from a large family. This picture was taken right after my father died. Six brothers and five sisters still living and one brother deceased.
I remember digging holes just for the fun of it and all the neighbor kids would come over to help since my back yard was only yard we were allowed to dig.
I remember feeding the chickens in the dead of winter and having to scrap the ice off their water container and filling it back up. This was all before I went to school.
I remember being my brother's substitute paper carrier when he was sick.
I remember having strep throat so bad my throut was green and I could not swollow and there was no money for the Doctor.
I remember faking being sick so I could stay home with my Dad when he got laid off. I love my Dad so.
I remember when my Granddad would vist from Minnesota and he would plant our summer garden. My cat got in his way one year while granpa was hoeing the weeds. That hoe came down on my cat's head and it was dead that quick. I watched it around grandpa eversince.
I remember Benny Strand teaching me how to swim at the Erie Boy's Club when I was eight years old.
I remember Snow ball fights and getting my face rubbed into the snow by Dennis Hart (who I had a crush on) when I was nine.
I remember going down to front street in the winter and using Mary Wells' brother's hockey skates to skate on the frozen pond.
I remember going down to front street to pick eldeberries in the summer with Mary Wells and coming home to bake my first eldeberry pie when I was ten.
I remember having to beat up one of the bullies on our block to defend my younger brother when I was eleven. That bully never bothered me or my brother anymore.
I remember getting picked up by a big truck, in the summer, full of kids and drove to Northeast to pick cherries when I was twelve.
I remember going to swim practice at the YWCA and my coaches wife use to swim with Johnny Weismuller.
Gee, I thought he was a celeb.
I remember getting invited to a fancy club to be awarded my swim medels for events I had won.
I remember working in a Commercial Laundry in the summer when I was fifteen and the Union Women making me join the Union. I was too young to work and they said they would not let me work if I didn't pay.
I remember getting the Swim Queen Trophy for East High School.
