This motel probably has been around since before WWII. Not to worry, it is a modern updated, clean experience. Located on the Chambersburg Road on the 1st day's battleground, this motel has units only on the ground floor. You can park in front of your room. The rooms feature modern plumbing, comfortable beds, flat screen TV, and silence. Being a part of the Choice corporation, there is an excellent breakfast. There is an outside pool. The rates are generally a bit lower than other area motels, so the place can be booked solid. General Robert E. Lee's headquarters is in front of the motel and staying there gives you free admission to the museum. There is also a brew pub next to the motel for lunches and suppers. I've been going there since 1968 and have never been disappointed--other than sometimes not being able to book a room because the place was filled.

Great views of the 1st days battlefield and you can walk to much of that part of the battlefield.
