If you like to walk on scenic trails, you must take a walk along the Shenango river from the Kidds Mills
covered bridge to Big Bend following the tow path
of the Erie canal. It's about 10 miles long.
I haven't been on it for a while, I'm not sure it's
still passable all the way.
The old canal locks can still be seen in Sharpsville.
Hermitage is a city about half way between Erie and Pittsburgh on the border of Ohio.
With the Shenango reservoir just a stone- throw away,
it has a lot to offer to water sport enthusiasts.
The city is part of the Shenango Valley which includes
Sharon, Farrell, Sharpsille and Wheatland.
