Westwynd Farm Inn: A great farm to spend some time
Our room was the only one on the first floor with it's own entrance other than going through the house. There are about seven rooms on the second floor. We had a king bed, fireplace, full bath and a working TV. Perfect location for the dining room Several refrigerators open to the guests including wine and beer . Neat and tidy and that includes the barn. This house's best assets are the owners, Carolyn and Frank Troxel. Frank explains everything you want to know about caring for animals and gives a grand tour of his animals in the barn. Carolyn seems to be in charge of the house with her friendliness and an abundance of information, besides being a very good cook.
Unique Quality: The breakfasts are included and include a lot of home cooked foods and delicious gourmet coffees.

Comfort Suites: Go up to Grantville
The hotels in the closest proximity to the park are more expensive - I recommend expanding your search to include Grantville - there are a number of nice chain hotels along I-81, and i's only a 10 minute drive away on some quiet country roads. We spent a few nights at the Comfort Suites for about $100 a night. The hotel was in great shape - they had a good hot breakfast each morning, and the rooms and lobby area were very clean. With all the time spent in Hershey, we didn't get a chance to use the pool or the workout facilities. The hotel itself is situated on a small road just south of the interstate, so we didn't notice any noise. The one disadvantage is there are very limited shopping or restaurant choices nearby, so you do have to pack back in the car if you need anything.

Hershey Highmeadow Campground: Only Way to Go to the Show
With 9,000 vendors and 1500 antique cars, you can imagine that the Hershey area hotels and motels are completely booked up, and so is everything for miles around. So in 1971, we brought our pickup camper and stayed at the campground. We were under the trees next to the river.
Now, the summer and Antique Auto Week are the two highest price times.
Antique Auto Week
(September 29 through October 10, 2005)
Full Hookup $41.99
Partial Hookup $37.99
No Hookup $34.99
Camping Cabins
$74.50 to $78.50 plus tax
Unique Quality: Currently the campground has:
* Two sparkling swimming pools
* Kiddie wading pool
* Game room
* Playground
* Basketball and volleyball courts
* Fun activities like campfire sing-alongs and arts & crafts
* Country store and gift shop
* Self-service laundry
* Separate buildings with shower and restroom facilities
Choose from tent sites, RV hookups, and rustic or log cabins. All sites including picnic tables and grills.

Best Western Harrisburg/Hershey Hotel & Suites!: Affordable Suites with in room Hot tubs!
We picked this hotel because we wanted an in room hot tub. As far as location for Hershey there are other hotels that are better located. But we had specific requirements lol. The hotel was clean and fairly efficient. However it was often difficult to get hold of the front desk person. The continental breakfast is in a restaurant across the parking lot, but what we weren't told was that full breakfast was served and we received a discount equivalent to the continental breakfast. We probably would have eaten breakfast both mornings there then.
The shower had one of those extra room bars for the curtain which was really nice. Everything was clean and worked well. We did at one point smell gas, but I think the hotel had just turned the fireplaces back on, there wasn't really a problem.
I would recommend the hotel if Hershey was part of what you were doing or if you wanted an affordable hotel with an in room hot tub.
Unique Quality: The in room hot tub and fireplace are pretty unique. The hot tub was barely big enough for the two of us, but it was nice having it.
The hotel allows pets in standard rooms.

The Hotel Hershey
Inspired by a trip to Europe in the early 1930's, Milton Hershey came back determined to build a hotel that would rival the finest in the world. He chose a classic Mediterranean design and had it built during the Depression as part of his "Great Building Campaign."
Unique Quality: There is a beautiful fountain in the lobby.
