Unfortunately, best in area.
As a platinum member with several hundred thousand points, I was very disappointed. I average eight months a year staying at different Holiday Inn locations. I believe this hotel does not live up to the standard I have come to expect from Holiday Inn. The staff is courteous although not very proficient. Twice during my stay I was informed of sold out situations that forced me to relocate. I could have stayed for an extra hundred dollars per night but chose not to spend the extra money. From the restaurant diner menu you can expect to pay around $30 per person. The food is often under cooked and the quality is inconsistent. The rooms are not modern, nor spacious. They have tube type TVs and a rusty grid drop ceiling in the bathrooms. The room was not clean when I checked in, and cleanliness went down from there. Dishes and trash litter the halls for several days straight. The pool and recreation area are now closed for renovation and I have been told that they will not reopen until the end of June. Other recent but insignificant renovations include new wallpaper in the rooms and new carpet in the lobby. Thankfully the people who repapered the walls removed the cobwebs from the ceilings as well. The business center is nothing more than a single computer and printer on a desk in the lobby. Fax and copy service is available at the front desk for hotel patrons. Check the transmission report to make sure the pages are not loaded upside down or you may find yourself 100 miles away when your boss calls to have you resend the fax. Parking spaces are numerous but narrow. If you need to have your card keys renewed, have them both scanned at the same time so you do not end up making three trips to the front desk. Renewing one key invalidates the other.

Johnstown's Best Downtown Hotel
Nice room. Pretty clean most everything in the room worked properly. There were no curtains to block out the street lights at night just sheers. If you need it dark to sleep then you are out of luck. The only other negative was that the girl at the front desk seemed to just hate her job and everyone else for that matter. Needed a real attitude adjustment. Was rude to everyone!
