The Amish Country Homestead
by keeweechic
You can take a tour through an authentic Amish Home. A guide will take you through and explain the way of life and beliefs of these people. The Amish Country Homestead is the only Amish house that has received designation as a Lancaster County Heritage Site, both for its authenticity in portraying Amish life today and for the accurate information given by the guide.
Amish Men
by keeweechic
Young and older men keep their hair and whiskers neatly trimmed. The hair is cut very neatly in a bang (or fringe) in front, or parted in the middle and slicked over the side to cover the ears. Their moustache is shaved off for cleaner eating habits. I believe only the married men are allowed beards.

Nice wildlife preserve located on the Lancaster-Lebanon County line. This is a nice place for relaxing and enjoying nature! There are a number of planned activities and programs throughout the year. You will find slide programs, and various Wildlife Art Shows, including prints and hand-carved waterfowl decoys. Environmental Education Specialists are happy to identify the various bird species that habitat the area during migration.
Be sure to check their web site for times and dates of these activities and programs.
