Poconos Weekend Getaway
Two couple planning a weekend trip to the poconos beginning of October. Any suggestions on where to stay or what towns are better to stay in. Thanks!

We stayed in Mount Pocono and felt pretty centrally located to the mtns, shopping, etc. If you're into the outlet stores, though, you're better off closer to Tannersville, or if you want "nature" - closer to the Delaware Gap Rec. area. My aunt actually owns a resort in Beach Lake, in the northern reaches of the Poconos - it's more of a self-contained area, not much else around for a ways.

Stroudsburg and East Stroudsburg also have a lot of places to stay, but can't think of any place names off the top of my head. There's a nice inn near Mt. Pocono on rt.940, I think it's actually in Pocono Summit or Pocono Pines, you could try googling those two town names.
