Doubletree

We could not get a suite, Doubletree was able to accomodate us with two adjoining rooms. The hotel was very comfortable, the location was excellent. Parking nor breakfast was included.

Unique Quality: We were there for a pajama party; they had many family activities with food.

Great location

This hotel is in the heart of Philadelphia's cultural district. The prices are reasonable for downtown The building itself is a little older but the rooms are large and my room had a great view of Broad Street. The rooms was clean and the beds were comfortable. Staff seems nice.

Unique Quality: Great beds and the location is good. If you go to a game or concert at the Sports Complex you can park your car and take the subway which is directly beneath the hotel. It's very convenient and you can walk to most of the more popular sights in Philly.

location, location, location.

Great location near theatres, Kimmel Center, restaurants etc. Walking distance to historical sites and convention center. Subway below the hotel takes you directly to the sports complex. Bar in lobby is fun place to watch football games. Restaurants and Bars are non smoking. Beds are great, very comfortable. Rooms are large and sunny, lots of windows. Staff is nice. Parking lot beside the hotel isn't too expensive for a city. Hotel doesn't own the lot but you can ask them to add parking to your bill so you get a discount.

Unique Quality: Cookies at check in! My room had a great view of Broad Street. Hotel also has Raquetball courts and large deck area to sit and sun.

Love the Chocolate Chip Cookies

I have to admit, one of the best things about staying at a Doubletree, especially this one, is the big fat chocolate chip and walnut cookies you recieve at check in. The Hotel itself is very nice. I had a great corner room with a super view. Service was good.

The hotel is located next to the Kimmel Center and Academy of Music. It's a 15 minute walk to the convention center.

More about Doubletree Hotel Philadelphia

A little let down

by A TripAdvisor Member

I've stayed here a few times before and had a better experience. The service is pretty good and the location is excellent. My room this time (including bathroom) was on the small side. It was a double and previous nights were spent in kings. I also ventured into their bar this trip and found the prices to be a little on the pricey side even for a hotel bar. I'll give it another shot though.

Had a wonderful stay!

Just got back from a two night stay in Philly at the Doubletree. I have to say, I can't wait to go back and stay there again!

The staff was uniformly pleasant and helpful, answering any questions that happened to come up during our stay.

We went on one of the packages from GoPhila, so parking was included in our very reasonable rate of $87/ night. Our room was pleasant, and had a beautiful view of the Avenue of the Arts. We could look down the street straight to City Hall--Especially lovely at night, with the clock face alight. The two restaurants, Standing O and the Academy Cafe had good, reasonably priced food. My seafood ceasar salad was piled with a much larger scoop of crab meat than I'd expected for the $11 price tag.

The pool is on the small side, but we still enjoyed relaxing after a long day of sightseeing in it.

Of special interest to my partner and I, the city's one lesbian bar, Sisters, is about a block away, as is one of the gay bars. It was a lovely thing not to have to worry about driving or hailing a cab after a night of dancing.

The only thing I would love to see the hotel improve upon in the next few years is to add high-speed internet access to the rooms. There is a business center on the third floor, but it was usually busy, and the internet connection was slower and less reliable than my dial-up.

Aside from that, can't wait til the next Philly trip at the Doubletree.

I'll be back. Staff was great. Stayed for the holiday weekend and got a great rate through travelhero.com (avg ~$100/night including tax and parking). Location is great. You can get on the Phlash trolley two blocks north of the hotel. Rittenhouse is close, so you can eat and shop close by. It's convenient off I-95. I just parked there the weekend, got on the Phlash and also did walking.
