Best hotel in NE Philly

This is a fantastic place to say if you're in the Northeast Philly/Lower Bucks County area. Newly renovated place. Nice rooms. Nice staff. They have a new fitness center with new equipment. The pool is actually salt water. I had to ask where the chlorine smell was...there wasn't one! The bar has over 60 beers. My family and I stayed here for a weekend and it was great. No too far from Sesame Place either!!

Unique Quality: Location. It's easy off I-95. There are plenty of places to eat or shop outside the hotel. Parking is free. It's great!

Stay within the city limits for less money!

The Doubletree Club of Northeast Philadelphia is within the city limits of Philadelphia, 30 minutes from downtown, 30 minutes from Jersey, 30 minutes from the malls, and 30 minutes from Sesame Place. Although it is a primarily residental neighborhood, it is the nicest one in the city (I, myself live 10 minutes away). The hotel is on the cheaper side, and has great amenities, as well as a bunch of stores and restaurants (including Nifty Fiftie's-- see the restaurants page) within walking distance. There is also a movie theater about 10 minutes away. Getting downtown is escpecially easy with a car (hop on the Boulevard and take it to the I-76 exit). Getting there via public transport is a bit harder, but still considerable if you're on a tighter budget.
-Take the 19 (Grant Av.) bus to the Torresdale Train Station and get a train downtown
-Take the 1 or 14 bus to the Bridge/Pratt (Frankford) El station to downtown.
-Take the 1 or 14 bus to Cottman Av., transfer to the 70 or 77, then transfer to the el at Ryers station (2 minutes from my house).

Unique Quality: The hotel itself isn't too shabby, but rather hard to book. The rooms are nicely furnished, and the lobby is recently redecorated and furnished. There is a nice large indoor pool, a health club, and a coffee shop and a gift shop in the lobby.

Don't forget about those cookies at check-in!!

;)
