A great centrally located Philadelphia hotel

We first stayed at the Marriott Philadelphia (Downtown) when we came to the flower show. You can't beat the location--it's connected by a skywalk to the Convention Center where the flower show is held. Other times we've stayed here because the location is convenient to other sights, also. The Philly Phlash (see transportation TIPS) trolley stops right at the corner by the hotel.

The rooms were nicely decorated and comfortable. During the "Sleep Over in Philadelphia" promotion you can stay two nights for the price of one. We took advantage of this promotion to see a lot of Philadelphia's attractions. We recently stayed at the Marriott Downtown over New Year's.--it was around the corner from the Mummer's Parade route. A special holiday price drew us to this hotel once again, when most of the downtown hotels were priced higher--we paid $149.00 for two adults and a child for one night.

Unique Quality: Within walking distance to Reading Terminal and the Convention Center

nice place

The view wasn't that great, but it was really gloomy while i was in philly, and this was probably why...

everything was clean and the staff was friendly.

Unique Quality: there's an awesome lounge area downstairs, along with a Starbucks on the side. :-)

Marriott Philadelphia

Very luxurius hotel conveniently located next to the convention center. There is even an indoor walkway connecting the two facilities.

Unique Quality: The Philadelphia Marriott Downtown is like a little city in itself. You don't need to leave the building to eat or shop. Connected to the hotel is a Starbucks, Champions Restaurant, American Grille Restaurant. By conveniently taking the walkway to the convention center there is also a Dunkin Donuts and Hard Rock Cafe. Further along this underground passageway is the subway and food court, this then leads to the Gallery (a shopping mall), which is then connected to Strawbridge's.

Mariott Philadelphia Downtown

The Lobby and accomodations here are even better than the nearby Crowne Plaza Hotel.

Since got this room via Priceline.com, we didn't get the best view...... that's OK though, it's a very nice place.

Unique Quality: The advantage of this hotel is the location. Across the block is the Reading Street Terminal and Market.

West Philadelphia - Conshohocken

Because all my visits to the Philly area were work oriented and we were based at BlueBell we usually stayed at the Marriott Philadelphia West in Conshohocken. As an indepndant traveller I probably wouldn't have stayed here, but I was always on expenses. Well located overlooking the Schuykill. It had some of the friendliest bar and restaurant staff I met in the States. Mind you as I probably stayed for for about 10 weeks over a period of three months they had plenty of chance to get to know me.

Unique Quality: It was easy to walk over the bridge to either get a train to Manayunk or to visit pubs like The Boathouse and The Great American Pub on Fayette Street.

Wonderful hotel...

The Philadelphia Marriot West is a full service hotel right on the bank of the Scukykill River in the West Conshohawkin section of the city. The Scukyill Expressway is only 1 min. from the hotel, and will get you downtown or to South Philly, by the airport (hopefully, but problably not, without traffic) in only 10 min. It is also within walking distance of the Conshohaken Rail Station. Nice rooms and two restaurants, an underground pool, spa, and health club, a parking garage, shops, and banquets, all in the same place/

Unique Quality: A newer hotel in a very unique part of the city has concierge, and everything you could possibly need. Just look out the windows (it's the nicest from a high floor), either at the river or just at the view. Take a walk outside and you'll be pleased to find a VERY unique area.

Loved The Marriott

We went to the Mummers Day Parade and while the $15. tickets to sit on the bleachers during the parade was well worth it, by the days end dozens of adults and children who did not want to pay the fee, kept climbing up the back of the bleachers and the situation was so out of hand and unsafe, that we left the parade. There were about 15 police officers who ignored the situation and we feel lucky the bleachers didn't collapse while we were on them. The Fancy Brigade tickets we purchased were $11. each and the seating was in a u shape which gave the bottom of the u shape the only good seats. Our seat views were of the back of the show, so I would look at the seating chart to determine what section your seat will be in. We took a taxi on the evening of Dec. 31st to the best fireworks ever and the food in Philadelphia was excellent. The Fox and Hound was a great place to watch football while eating and drinking. Philadelphia is a great place to visit!

Great Hotel

by TripAdvisor Member Like2travel

We recently stayed at the Marriott in downtown Philadelphia over the Christmas holidays. This is our second stay at this hotel and we have not been disappointed. It's in a good location and within walking distance of the historical district (weather permitting and if you don't mind walking about 4 or 5 blocks, otherwise it's a short cab ride) and there are several restaurants nearby.
The hotel itself has a very nice lobby, the rooms are comfortable and clean and each time we have found the staff to be friendly.
However, if it's a nice view you're looking for it would be a good idea to request it ahead of time, otherwise you may be looking down at a rooftop.
We'll probably stay there again our next time in Philly.
