Walking distance
by SilverBelle
I am considering the ferry for a concert at the Susquehanna Center; however, I have a guest who may have limits on walking a long distance. My question is: what is the distance from the ferry to the concert hall and the general length of walking time from point to point?
Thank You fro your assistance.

I remember it was a casual ten to fifteen minute walk from the exit from the Ferry to seating at the concert hall. After the concert, just follow the crowds to the Ferry, which will continue to operate until all people who walked there from the concert have gotten back to Philly.

Security Checkpoints
by smschley
Since 9/11 the world is a different place and security checks are part of the new world. Remember to add additional time for these checkpoints to your daily time schedule. The photo is a picture of the security checkpoint for Independence Hall. On this day the lines were pretty short, but at certain time the lines can be very long. The one for the Liberty Bell can be even longer so the best bet is to get there as early as possible.

There are so many things to see and do here, but if you've never been here before, you should definitely go to Independence National Park for a close-up of the Liberty Bell and other historic sights. I love Philly at night, especially the skyline view from Grays Ferry Ave, and the lit-up Ben Franklin Bridge over the Delaware River. When I'm away I miss public transit the most. You can go almost anywhere in the city without a car.
Get your bling-bling on!

If you're in town & looking for that special piece of jewelry for that special someone, Philadelphia's Jewelers Row is on Samsom Street, between 7th and 9th Streets. A block from Independence Hall, its two block of nothing but jewelry. Diamonds, gold, all the bling you could ever want.
Hey, Philly's a romantic place - why not pop the question here, then seal the deal with that special gem. It's all on Philadelphia's Jewelers Row.
Paying Homage
by zuriga
One must absolutely pay homage to this great man (although he was born in Boston!). Ben Franklin began many new institutions in the colonies..first library, first fire company and the University of Pennsylvania.

visit the Betty Ross House (1773). 239 Arch Street - Visit 10:00AM to 5:00PM. Unique interest : it's a house ... Nearby, there are some actors of Historic Philadelphia (see 'Must see Activity'). Betty Ross (a quaker) sewed the first American Flag. It was easier than today : there were only 13 stars.
