Looking for a burger restaurant featured on a travel show
by shibabigk
This might be a long shot, but... a while back we saw a show on Foodnetwork (I think), about the best burger places around the country. One was near Philadelphia, something with 'moon' in the name. They serve burgers made from Bison and more exotic sources and we really want to go check it out. Any ideas what it might be called?
Thanks :-)

It looks like you're talking about the Half Moon Saloon.
Here is a link to a website about burgers in Philadelphia

I live 10 minutes from the Half Moon Saloon (just across the state line in Delaware). We go there fairly regularly and Mr. travelmad 478 is a big fan of the bison burger. They have a small specialty of offering game meats, things like antelope etc., which rotate through the menu as they are available. They also have an excellent beer menu, which is another thing that keeps Mr. tm478 happy :-)
It is kind of a hike to Kennett Square from Philly (about an hour from Center City) but there is plenty to do in the Kennett area, so you might jut consider staying overnight. If you do, ask me for suggestions on things to do/see in the Brandywine Valley. I have lived there for 13 years.
Travel Tips for Philadelphia
Parkway Museums District
by ROGERSJK416
I'm drawn to cultural treasures in every city I visit, and want to share the same when friends visit me! In Philadelphia, that means a trip the Ben Franklin Parkway is required. The Parkway itself (and nearby) is marketed as the "Parkway Museums District," so look for those signs. A great site for info before you arrive: parkwaymuseumsdistrict.org. I found maps, tips for families, walking and biking tours, and a discount coupon for the museums. Gotta love coupons! I've always loved the whole vibe of Philadelphia. It's a lively place, with so much to do - solo, as a couple, with friends or kids. (Sounds like a commercial, but I truly feel that way!)
Huge Art
by tpangelinan
Every where you look in Philadelphia you will find sound wonderful and very large sculptures, statues to Clothes pins. This town is full of art and history to be explored, so much to see here you may want to make a few days of it.
Liberty Place is the highest...
by billus
Liberty Place is the highest building in Philly. Before its completion in 1987, no building could rise taller than William Penn's statue on City Hall (world's ugliest building, below), by a 'gentlemen's agreement'. Give me a break. By Helmut Jahn
Society Hill Towers
by yooperprof
An example of successful modern residential architecture - that works! I.M. Pei designed these towers that were completed in the early 1960s. It helps a great deal that they don't have to contend with other tall buildings nearby. Pei was at the beginning of his architectural career, which would later see him designing monuments of contemporary architecture like the John Hancock Building in Boston, and the famous Louvre glass pyramid Paris.
CONGRESS HALL
by Sharrie
Visit the CONGRESS HALL: Adjacent to the INDEPENDENCE HALL, this is another important building which once served as Capitol of the United States (1790 - 1800) where senators & representatives wrestled with issues of implementing the U.S. Constitution.
