Best Western Parkway Center Inn
I have at the Best Western Parkway Center Inn numerous times over the past thirty years. When I was younger this was my dad's hotel of choice in Pittsburgh because it is close to downtown (just 2 miles), reasonably close to the airport (15 miles), and relatively inexpensive (rooms starting at $89, compared to about $150 downtown).
The hotel is recently remolded, so definately not too bad. Each of the 117 rooms has free wired internet access, a small TV, coffee pot and clock. Guests here can make use of the free shuttles to the city and airport, free continental breakfast, free cocktails from 5 to 7pm, fitness center and heated pool. Also, children under 18 stay free.
There is a cafe and lounge on the first floor called Sam and Tony's Cafe. Back in the early 1990s I met a few members of the metal band Skid Row here. They must have stayed here for a concert or while between concerts. They were playing video games and being harassed by teenage girls.

Best Western Parkway Center
Hotel Taxes were an Unexpectedly High and Unpleasant Surprise added to $75-95 a night single room. I travel often and recognize cities seem to love to tax hotel rooms to pay for stadiums, but this tax is one of the most steep I've ever encountered. BEWARE!
Unique Quality: Breakfast Buffet with a nice variety of simple items to eat and FREE OPEN BAR during Manager's Happy Hour for guests.
This nice, convienient hotel was under reconstruction & refurbishment when I visited. Sadly my room appeared to be out of the 1970's.
