Next to the Arena
The Marriot is very nice and we got a good deal through priceline. Downstairs there was a bar, retaurant and a Starbucks - but we hit the town instead. The hotel is across the street from the Mellon Arena and the business district, so it's a great spot for business travelers.

Marriott Pittsburgh City Center
Located downtown, just across the street from the Mellon Arena and the Doubletree Hotel, the Marriott is a great choice if you want a nice hotel downtown. We booked our room on Priceline for $60 a night ($75 with taxes and service charges) for a Saturday night in December. This is a very nice, modern hotel with all the amenities. Parking at the hotel is $16.50 for self parking and $22 for valet. Internet access is available via wired connection in each room.

Just a good hotel
I would definately recommend this hotel it is eay to get to most events in the city being directly across the street from the Mellon arena and not that far from PNC park as well as many other sites in the city.
