Morning Glory Inn, Pittsburgh, PA - Reviews and Hotel Information

This past weekend three friends and I spent two nights at the Morning Glory Inn, Pittsburgh. What a scam. We were charged higher rates then the ones we booked, were put on the top floor (think 3 steep flights) with no help carrying bags. Our accommodations consisted of two beds for four adults (not couples). Trudging up the steep incline like a pack mule got me up close and personal with the filthy carpet - a sign of things to come. This place is the pits and the insulting accommodations and lack of services is rivaled only by the rude, arrogant and clearly misplaced hosts. These people should consider another line of work, possibly one including paper hats and flipping burgers.

If you, fellow traveler, read anything positive about this place it was either written a very long time ago or was written by the owners. The rooms were freezing, showers were freezing, rooms were not clean, partiers yelling in the street till 3:00 a.m. both nights, and two completely disconnected owners who act like they have nothing to do with the place other than to serve a light breakfast (read: no choices / no meats). Bottom line: $900.00 for two beds / two nights. Disgraceful considering the true service (historical) establishments available in Pittsburgh. Stay at the Omni, or Hilton or on a local river bank - just avoid The Morning Glory Inn. Wish I could give them zero stars.

The outstanding characteristic of the place has to be the rude, arrogance of the owners. These people should hang it up. Maybe they were into the B&B thing at one time but I have never felt so unwelcome or paid such a high rate for so little service.
