Solo Traveler visiting pittsburgh aug 21 22 23 24 25 looking for recommendations

Hi i am visiting pittsburgh for 5 days in August . I am looking for some recommendations of sites to see things to do . I am traveling alone i am a single gay man in my 30s. I pretty much have my mind set on certain things i would like to do however more imput the better. I am staying at Wyndham university place oakland section on forbes ave. What is the area like is it good hotel place to stay and also i refuse to pay 20 dollars a night to park i do have rental car and was wondering any garages close to hotel where i can park cheaper 24 hr places. I am not a huge fan of any public transportation so also i am wondering when i go to downtown area pnc park etc good cheap places to park etc . I will def do inclines go to pns park to see baseball game walk around city duck tour point state park strip station square mt washington . I will go to kennywood either mon or tue if i get to park early before gates open it should not be crowed am i right and i will get tons of rides .I will go to cathedral of learning heinz chapel etc. I will also make trip to Fallingwater any good restaurants near there i like simple stuff italian barbeque steak chicken . I will also hot rivers casino . I would also like to know any cool gay clubs that i can go to on saturday night i am there i heard about pegasus if u can clue we in on type of crowd does it get busy and is if fun. Also any other places i can go to meet other gay guys to get to know conversate etc. I also like to take nice walks parks nature trails etc i read there are 2 parks near my hotel frick and schenley . Also most important what areas are best to avoid in pittsburgh area since i am going to be alone during my trip. Yes i will hit primanti brothers too . Thanks in advance for all your help and how does my ideas sound . Also i heard of some mine tour in tatertum how does that sound

The area you chose to stay in is a university/office/medical area and doesn't have much going on at night, unfortunately.
I was considering spending a night in that area up until recently and was researching the parking options a bit. There is meter parking in the area that is enforced Monday thru Saturday, 8am to 6pm. You could park in a garage during the enforcement hours (http://www.pts.pitt.edu/parking/visitor.html) then move your car to the meters just before that period ends and leave it overnight. I do this in cities a lot and it's a huge pain, but I'm also really cheap. You'd have to check with the garages near there for their overnight rates. I couldn't find any published and the University of Pittsburgh doesn't appear to allow overnight parking in their garages.
Parking around the points of interest in Pittsburgh isn't usually cheap, especially during the day.
For food, the thing that Pittsburgh is famous for is the Primanti Brothers sandwich. It's meat (you choose), cole slaw (vinegar-based) and french fries on some tasty bread. There's a Primanti Brothers location (the original, I believe) in the Strip District, which is an area of restaurants, shops and art galleries, fun but not upscale. There's a location in Oakland right on Forbes also though.
There are lots of museums in Pittsburgh. The Andy Warhol Museum should be a stop, I think.

David L. Lawrence Convention Center, completed in 2003, is not to be confused with the original David L. Lawrence Convention Center that was completed in the 1960s or 70s. This convention center is state of the art, the largest certified green facility in the world. This is also the site of the September 2009 G-20 conference, a gathering of the leaders of the 20 great economic powers.
The David L. Lawrence Convention Center is is the largest LEED-certified 'green' building in the world. This 1.5 million square foot facility is owned by the Sports & Exhibition Authority of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County and managed by SMG. It cost $375 million to construct.
The convention center is named for Davis L. Lawrence, four-time mayor of Pittsburgh, and governor of Pennsylvania from 1959-1963.

The 2007-2008 Pittsburgh Penguins are one of the youngest, most exciting teams in the NHL. With superstar and reigning MVP Sidney Crosby, rookie of the year Evgeni Malkin, veterans Sergei Gonchar and Gary Roberts, plus a cast of other exciting players, this appears to be a team poised for great long-term success.
It had been about 10 years since my last Pens game in Pittsburgh when I finally returned in December 2007. With 30-some consecutive sellout games, I was forced to buy my tickets from Stub Hub with a considerable markup. Tickets for good seats up high on the blue line start at $40 but only go up from there. Parking in the arena lots is about $15 per car, with neighboring lots in the city charging similar prices.
The arena is definitely looking dated, with the ancient orange padded seats stained and torn. The newer Igloo Club sections look better, but are much more expensive. Food and drink options are numerous from local to national beers, and your traditional pizza and hot dogs. Yum.
Fallingwater

This is Frank Lloyd Wright's most famous work. A true masterpiece, it follows his philosophy that a building should fit into its surroundings, rather than be imposed upon them. The waterfall is natural; notice how it runs beneath the house. It was built in the 1930s for the Kaufmann family (who founded the famed department store).
Guided tours are given all day. Fallingwater is located on PA Route 381, between the Mill Run and Ohiopyle.
