Honor A Great Man Who Loved Beer
Frederick Lauer was a man who loved beer. He is credited with being the first person to bring Lager to America. He served as the first President of the United States Brewers Association. He even equipped, at his own expense, his own company of men to fight for the Union cause. In 1885, the citizens of Reading unveiled a bronze statue in Lauer's likeness. The Big Wedding
The pics that I have here were all taken with Staffan's digital camera by Staffan's sister. None of them are mine, really, but they are all we have right now. :)
"The Bridal Shuffle"
This is a picture of what happens when you try to fit three not-small people in a slightly narrow aisle, one of whom is in a big, poofy dress. I call it "The Bridal Shuffle." First, you need two fathers, stepfather on the left, father on the right, bride in the middle. Then, you lead with the bouquet, since the stepfather is correctly in front, while the father gets slammed into a pew and ends up behind, and the bride ends up halfway between the two, doing a halfway kind of side step down the aisle. The "Hustle" and the "Achy Breaky" have nothing on the "Bridal Shuffle."
Of course, after the ceremony you have the receiving line..."How are you, so glad you could come, it's been forever since we've seen you, etc etc etc." This is about when the shell-shocked smile starts to appear. My matron of honor had this smile on her face from the time she walked down the aisle until the end of the reception at her wedding. I think I did, too. I blamed it on all the flashbulbs popping at us all day. :)
"Let Them Eat Cake!"
The best part of the whole day...CAKE!!! :)
The moment we've all been waiting for...the bride and groom's first dance together. :)
