Go swimming or boating in the lake at Skytop Lodge
The lake at Skytop has a beach for swimming. You can also row a boat or paddle a kayak out on the lake.
Ignore Review From "Buyer Beware"
My family and I think that this is a great resort for almost any one to stay at. We come ever year and we personally think that this is the BEST.Perhaps that this lady who worte "Buy Beware" must have been extremly cranky from a very bad day. This is a fantastic place. The pool does not have bugs. The pool is always warm and hot and relaxings and clean. The gaming room is very nice because i have never, will never, ever find a mini golf for kids indoors anywhere. When we go, all of the games are functioning and it is easy to send the kids down to watch other or play themselves. many kid play on three ping pong tables and in addition to that as if it wasnt enough) they have two pool tables. in the morning all you have to do is get your family down to the dining area and then they will go get their own food.I thought all the meals were great.I couln't expect anything more. Please visit this resort. You will not regret it.

Summer 2007
Hi all. Im thinking of going to Pennsylvania this summer to work at a kids summer camp. Could anybody give me any info on Pennsylvania in general (weather in summer/things to do etc) or if anyone has previously worked on one of these summer camps in USA? Thanks.

it depends where the camp is located in pennsylvania. it can get quite hot, but my guess is that the camp will be in the woods somewhere, so hopefully there will be a nice lake to jump into. the location will influence what there is to do. Philly is a good city, and if you are in eastern PA you can probably get into NYC as well. i assume you won't have transportation, but some camps will provide staff with a drop off somewhere on a train/bus line or maybe you can hitch a ride with a fellow staff member. do you know which camp it is?

I went to camp in the Poconos, a zillion years ago. There are tons of summer camps there....As said before, it's a big state, and you'll get better info if you can specify where in the state you'll be....

I think the Poconos is the best bet! There is an upscale resort there called Skytop Lodge. www.skytop.com and they have a kids camp and activities through the summer. The nice part is that they have brand new employee dorms on property, and a cafeteria for all of your meals. Good place to work and enjoy 5,500 acres during the summer. Hope this helps as an option.

I haven't heard of that camp but as for the weather in summer it will be warm to hot. Be sure to check yourself for ticks while there. You can expect to find quite a few Lyme disease carrying dear ticks in that area.

We lived just south of Starlight in Honesdale which has many camps. Starlight is very rural area. Depends on the year can be in the 70 to 90 range dry or rainy.
