Travel Tips for State College

Packing List

by flayaway

it doesnt' matter. Just for kicks...ha. ha. : white sneakers, any kind of old weather-worn t-shirt that advertises a long-forgotten rock concert....A Kiss concert would be prrrrrrrfect. Women especially should wear untailored mens shorts and Men should wear dirty beaten baseball caps preferably above the ears. If you're a Teen or Single adult...any kind of Gap or Abercrombie & Fitch, American Eagle will do. and if you have any money...wear khakis, 14ct. gold or Sterling Silver Penn State jewelry, a golf shirt and loafers or Dock-siders to look like you do.
The weather creates 4 seasons annually. It is generally overcast and rains for weeks here. Waterproof shoes are highly recommended. If you are going to live here, bring 4 different jackets...one for each season....if traveling...bring a baseball cap and an umbrella.

Penn State

"Penn State"

The Rolling Hills around Penn State University really makes this University one of the most beautiful campuses in the U.S.. This football stadium which holds almost 100,000 is suprisingly just a huge high school like stadium.. It was wide open the day we were there. Unlike Notre Dame.. We walked right onto the field..Just a huge erector set though.. Don't know what I thought it would be .. Guess you would think a stadium this size would be concrete.. but it isn't..

One of the most unique things about State College is it is not easy to get to.. the 4 lane roads stops way outside the city.. I suppose this is by design.. Who needs interstates rolling through town when you are trying to study.. game days must be a bear though.. at least a lion.. maybe a Nittany Lion...
