Admiral Fitzroy Inn

There is something about being somewhere familiar, comfortable, warm and inviting and the Admiral Fitzroy Inn is just that for me and Ferni.

One our first stay here we had arrived in Newport with no plans of actually spending the night, but after spending a wonderful day exploring Newport we lost track of time and realized it was pretty late for the drive back home. We came upon this Inn mostly by coincidence. We had passed it earlier while walking around Newport and decided to call and see if any rooms were available and we were lucky, there was just one room available for the night. We decided to stop by and check out the room before committing on staying. We were greeted very warmly by Angela (I think that is her name, I am bad with names) and then shown the room. The room was a nice King size room at the back of the Inn. The furnishings were tasteful but not over the top. Bathroom was nice size and the room had a nice size comfy sofa where Ferni and I discussed our day with a nice glass of wine.

The Inn has a nice sitting area with comfy couches and free internet for guest. There is a small dining area where breakfast is served with a varied selection of juices, fruits, cheeses, cereal and an assortment of other items.

Our second stay was during a quick weekend escape for my pre-birthday celebration. Ferni thought the Inn was ideally located, the staff was friendly and our room was nice, so he booked it again for this visit. He actually even requested the same room, which was quite nice. We definitely enjoy our stay here with wonderful service and great location.

They have various size rooms and even have a King room with a private balcony, but on both occasions this room was not available. They also have weekend or themed specials.
