I never knew how much there was to see in Newport, all of Rhode Island for that matter, until I met Burt, owner of Access Newport. He and all his staff seem to be an endless fountain of knowledge of the area. Their tours are the best, which is why they are the only Tour company to appear in AAA 's book of Newport, RI. They were also written up in Yankee Magizine for being the "finest tours in America". Their drivers were well dressed and curtious, and I wasn't able to stump them with any of my questions.
Did you know that First Beach was the first co-ed beach in all of America? I didn't!
I am telling, even locals will enjoy themselves and learn tons, on one of their custom tours... just tell them what you are into. They will show you the side of Rhode Island you have been looking for.
Access Tours Of Newport offers the most in-depth, personalized individual and group tours in custom chauffered coaches, in all of New England!
They offer FAR TOO MANY TOURS FOR ME TO MENTION THEM ALL.
Explore The Newport Mansions and Cliff walk, experience their A+ Chauffer service, have help planning and shuttling for your wedding, Impress a client needing pick-up from an airport, enjoy their designated driver service (recommended for nights out on the town), get aquainted with colonial history...
TIP- ask about their "Newport Special"! Perfect for out of townies, this is a 2 hour overview of the area.
; ) young at heart- ask for a description of the many "Adventure Tours"!
I actually didnt get any free room in Newport at this time because it was the peak period. Thus, about 40 miles south of Newport is East Greenwich. A very quiete and lovely town. So, since I had a good car with me, I decided to lodge here and liesurely drive to Newport daily from here. For the price, I think this is a very good hotel. They are very liberal and kind. nd the Hotel have all the trappings of a five star, so, what else could I ask for.
Breakfast is buffet, there is an indoor swimming pool, Large double rooms with all the luxuries one can ask for, Nice reception, save and quiete location that is near to the main town of Newport.
I've stayed here every summer for over ten years and am never disappointed. Small but nice. Mini-fridge in the room is a plus.
Fantastic view. Sits right on Easton's pond and can see first beach from the balcony.
I can only recommend that a barracks would not be my first choice on a vacation.
Room and board were included in the tour package
It was very, very clean and there was always lots of company to keep you entertained
