Thomas Rhett House c 1829 (#21 on tour)

This building at 1009 Craven Street was built in 1820. The structure is now the site of the Rhett House Inn. It has two story wrap around piazzas and transom lights over the doorways. The portico and the wings are not original
Charming Inn

We just got back from a week in Charleston, Beaufort, and Savannah. Our night at the Rhett House Inn was one of our loveliest! Our room, #1, was fabulous and the staff couldn't be more hospitable. It is truly what you'd expect in a Southern antebellum inn. Very picturesque!

We had a great experience at the Rhett House Inn. Courteous staff, clean rooms, great architecture, awesome breakfast and deserts. Walking distance to Beaufort shops and restaurants.
Excellence across the board

My wife and I just enjoyed a wonderful weekend in Beaufort and give alot of credit to the Rhett House Inn and its staff. Our room, #12 in the adjacent "cabin" was very comfortable. The Inn was as impressive inside as out and Stephanie set up a perfect slate of dinner reservations within minutes of our arrival. Breakfasts were spot on and well served and the nightly dessert set up in the kitchen was a big hit. We are certain to return.

This HAS to be one of the best inns in the USA.
Our stay was a breath of fresh air. Our room was cozy with a comfortable king sized bed, gas firplace, jacuzzi tub & a private veranda. The atmosphere beckons guests to remember a simpler time. A traditional southern breakfast was included with our stay. The staff was friendly & helpful; & there are 2 resident felines that are equally as gracious.
We will definitly visit again; hopefully very soon. I reccomend The Rhett House Inn to anyone who wants to slow down, relax, & enjoy themselves in a serene setting.
A little piece of history

This past week we stayed at the beautiful Rhett House in Beaufort, SC.
The hospitality and charm of the proprietors and the staff were refreshing to say the least. We felt like family.
Everything about the Rhett House was enjoyable, right down to the scrumptious pecan pie we had on the porch in the evening.
We will definitely recommend the Rhett House to our friends who travel to this area of South Carolina. It's even worth going out of your way.
Wonderful Experience!

A great place for a real relaxing getaway. Close to home for us (4 hour drive) that we didn't have to go thru an airport hassle!
The Inn is beautifully but comfortably decorated and the entire staff were friendly and gracious. We stayed in Room 10 which has a wonderful private screened porch that overlooks the garden. The sound of the water from the garden was almost hypnotizing in the lazy afternoon. The room itself was as comfortable as home with excellent linens, both bed and bath.
We also utilized the service of a provided picnic basket to take to the beach. The sandwiches in it were very good.
You won't be hungry either! The full southern breakfast was a great start to the day. The grits are like no other we had ever eaten. Although we did not partake of the afternoon cookies or evening cocktail available we did have the evening desserts each night! Save room for those as they were really good !
We've already made reservations to return next year (if not before) for a full week!
Beaufort itself was also a very friendly and easy to walk around town from the Inn.
Way Overpriced

$400 a night in Beaufort? Not worth it - yes, the Rhett House is lovely but nothing extraordinary, breakfast was avarage at best. And, do NOT stay in room 1 - next to the kitchen and right next to reception, where, for $300 a night, you will be awakened by kitchen help at 7 a.m. getting breakfast ready and hear guests and staff hoofing it by your door at all hours.

The Rhett House is a very quaint B&B with gorgeous relaxing rooms. An excellent place to relax. Walking distance to Historic Downtown Beaufort and the staff was very helpful. We will be going back for some R&R. We ate breakfast outside on the veranda and I had a wonderful piece of keylime pie the night before.
