Two Meeting Street Inn, one of Charleston's oldest B&B's, is ideally located in the historic district, on the corner of Meeting and South Battery Streets. Across the street, Battery Park sits with its distant view of Fort Sumter.
The Inn's wide veranda makes for a welcoming retreat for a quiet breakfast or afternoon tea. Lovely antiques, magnificent Tiffany windows and lavish decor all contribute to a particular atmosphere--sheer luxury. Believe me, you will receive FIVE STAR treatment here!
This 1890 Queen Anne Victorian mansion offers the traveler many amenities:
a full Southern breakfast-a real delight!
concierge services (which we found to be excellent!)
lowcountry afternoon tea offering sweets and savories-absolutely delicious
a glass of sherry in the evening
comfy cotton robes
ipod docks in guestrooms
We enlisted concierge help many times and always experienced an enthusiastic response. Taxi's and pedicabs were called for us, directions given and restaurant reservations made--all to our satisfaction! I would definitely welcome the opportunity to visit Two Meeting Street Inn again!
*We flew in from the Dallas area, grabbed a taxi from the airport to the B&B. There was no need to rent a car because we were either transported by trolleys, pedicabs or we walked where we wanted to go. The location of this B&B made it extremely easy to navigate the historic area!
