The South Carolina state flag, together with the one from Maryland, are my favourites of the lot. It has white emblems of a half moon and a palmetto tree on a dark blue background. You may have seen the Palmetto and moon emblem on the unwashed cap of a certain ClarkRB.
Fairly small place, but very popular, so it was packed when we got there. We sat at the bar and had a fantastic meal of pork medalions, asparagus and creamed sweet potato. Great presentation. A very nice bartender, and a great atmosphere. A bit pricey, but well worth it. the pork medalions were fantastic.
located on the grounds of the south carolina state house is the south carolina revoluntionary war general's monument. this scottish granite monument honors generals francis marion, thomas sumter, and andrew pickens.
The only time I have ever been to Columbia, SC has been to the university for a conference, and to the zoo.
Both were ok.
The only thing that the Columbia Zoo has that the NC Zoo doesn't is penguins. Man, those guys are cute!
