We stopped into the Save Mart to get some gas. The guy looked quizically at our car (laden with suitcases and clothes) and at our out-of-state NY plates. After I gassed up the car and went inside to pay, he glumly said that "that will be cash only". This was one of the few places in all of our east coast travels down I-95 that we could not use our credit card to pay for gas.
Was it me? was it the NY plates? was it store policy? I have no idea but I thought it was a curious custom.
Location was off I-95, off US52 about a quarter mile.
