Friendly staff, clean rooms, & a functioning toilet & shower head? What more could you ask for? Well, this wasn’t perhaps the greatest hotel I ever stayed at, but the price couldn’t be beaten. My family of four spent 5 days & 5 nights in this hotel & paid USD $204.00 for our stay. Compared to the other establishments on the island, this was the best deal. The only thing I found to be in a state of shambles was the availability for parking or the lack thereof. There are assigned parking areas for the hotel scattered all around the block; & if you are not quick to return to the hotel upon the conclusion of your day, you can pretty much forget about finding a convenient parking spot. This place has been around since at least the 70's, but has also been remodeled a lot. The rooms aren't anything spectacular, but the place is great for families, and is in walking distance to many of the shops and restaurants on the island.
Located on the beach, pool, baby pool, ocean view rooms, cookout grills and picnic tables, rooms with lofts available, very friendly family atmosphere. Leave a Comment Theme: InnPrice: US$80-120 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: South Forest Beach Drive, Hilton Head Island |

We stayed a week at this older condo on Hilton Head. I do not know what the cost is normally as we were staying there via a space available program for the military or military retirees. They said a one bedroom unit was available for sale for $800 for the 2nd week in Feb., after which you would pay the condo fees which I think were something on the order of $450/year (if I heard that right). They have various activities, crafts, things for the kids (including a playground on site) and some things at night - I went to the welcome coffee Monday morning and they had a guest speaker. They will arrange tennis lessons, and gave us a list of golf courses with the fees. Also they offered discounts on bike rentals and to some restaurants.
Our unit was on the 5th floor, which they are apparently in the process of renouvating. The floors up there in the 'hall' (the halls were open to the air, but had a cover and were in the center of the building with the units on each side) are concrete without any tilelike finish on them. There are also old appliances out in the hall. There is an elevator at each end with a glass outside wall. There were luggage carts that you can load and take up to your unit. Our unit has a loft with twin beds and a TV, a great room with another TV and a balcony looking over one of the two pools (one of them is heated), a full kitchen, a half bath, and a bedroom with a queen bed and a full bathroom. The latter bedroom has a window out onto the corridor which is lighted all night, so it has blackout curtains on it. You have to keep them closed, or people can watch you sleeping. There is a step up into the kitchen from both the hall and the living room. We have to be careful about that- not to trip. The kitchen includes, pots and pans, and eating utensils, plus a toaster, coffee pot and microwave. All local calls are free. We have access to the beach with the combination to the beach gate and changing rooms, but not to the newer unit parking garage. Parking was free. . Leave a Comment |

 | | | | Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort: One of my very favorite hotel stays
Tip Rating: Satisfaction: | | | | |
My sister and I stayed here during a hot, rainy weekend in July. Because it was peak season, even our small studio suite was mighty pricey. If you're able to visit Hilton Head during a less peak month, the prices at the Disney Resort drop considerably. The resort is made up of dozens of buildings spread across a woodsy little island surrounded by marsh. This setting makes the resort feel very peaceful and quiet. Along the many paths, hidden in the trees, are numerous hammocks and games. Such a nice area to while away a few hours just relaxing or playing horseshoes. In the center of the island is a nice pool and slide, a clubhouse with activities for children, a take-out window for quick meals and snacks, bike and fishing pole rental, and even the occasional campfire. The resort is not on the ocean, but there is a shuttle bus that takes you over to a private beach house with games, pool, and counter-service restaurant. Our only frustration with the hotel was its lack of dining options. For table service dining, you have to walk to the mall area across the resort bridge. Even though we only had the smallest kind of room, it was amply large for us. A small kitchen, large bathroom, washer and dryer, double bed, sitting area, sofa with pull-out bed, and balcony. It was wonderful to sit in the rocking chairs on our balcony and watch the sun set over the marsh. All in all, a great hotel. |

We stayed at the Hilton Head Island Beach and Tennis Resort. Our room was beautiful but others in our group said their rooms weren't that nice.
We were in a condo right on the ocean and ours was individually owned which we figured meant that it was in better condition than those owned by the resort. The Westin, Hilton, Hyatt, and Daufuskie Island resort are all nice resorts. These are quite pricey but there are reasonable hotels such as the Red Roof Inn which is in a good location or even the Holiday Inn which is on the ocean in one of the best locations. The only con is that's where all the under 21 crowd hangs out...at least that's what I did when I lived there before I could get my fake ID.
