The resort is made up of dozens of buildings spread across a woodsy little island surrounded by marsh. This setting makes the resort feel very peaceful and quiet. Along the many paths, hidden in the trees, are numerous hammocks and games. Such a nice area to while away a few hours just relaxing or playing horseshoes. In the center of the island is a nice pool and slide, a clubhouse with activities for children, a take-out window for quick meals and snacks, bike and fishing pole rental, and even the occasional campfire. The resort is not on the ocean, but there is a shuttle bus that takes you over to a private beach house with games, pool, and counter-service restaurant. Our only frustration with the hotel was its lack of dining options. For table service dining, you have to walk to the mall area across the resort bridge.
Even though we only had the smallest kind of room, it was amply large for us. A small kitchen, large bathroom, washer and dryer, double bed, sitting area, sofa with pull-out bed, and balcony. It was wonderful to sit in the rocking chairs on our balcony and watch the sun set over the marsh. All in all, a great hotel.
