Hunting Island Campgrounds: South Carolina State Park Campgrounds
Hunting Island has a 200 site campground located on the north end of the park. The URL shows a map of the area. I did not actually visit the campgrounds, as I was mostly interested in the lighthouse. I understand that each camp site has its own water and electrical hookup, a picnic table and area for parking. There are restroom facilities, hot showers and dressing rooms, two dump stations for RV's, pay phones, sheltered picnic areas and a small convenience store. The campsites are available on a first come first served basis, although a limited number of sites may be reserved. The length of stay can be from two nights to a maximum of 14 consecutive nights with a check out time of 2 pm. There is easy access to the beach.
The campsites are very popular and go very quickly, so it's a good idea to check the availability of a campsite in advance.
The Hunting Island camping rates are:
$25.30 per night per site April through October.
$20.90 per night per site November through March.
Ten trail tent sites are available: $11.50 each per night, April-October.
Cancellation must be made in writing & received no
later than 24 hours prior to arrival date.
All cancellations are subject to a $15.00 administrative fee.
For reservations... the cost is $1.00 extra.
Reservation requests are handled at the camp ground from 9 am - 5 pm Mondays - Fridays, and by phone at 843-838-2011 and must be paid for within 10 days of the request. Cancellations must be in writing at least 24 hours in advance and there may be a handling fee. Reservations are NOT taken over the internet.

Hunting Island: South Carolina State Park Cabins
The cabins are at the other end of the island from the campground. I did not see them either. I don't think these buildings under the trees are the cabins, but they could be like that. This is what the website says:
Hunting Island has 14 State owned cabins available year-round to the public located on the south end of the park. Most cabins have 2 or 3 bedrooms and accommodate 6 to 10 people.
State owned cabins are equipped with bed & bath linens, central heat & air, microwave, cooking & eating utensils, screened porch, outdoor grill picnic table and a color TV. Both ocean and lagoon side cabins are available. Four have fireplaces and there is one handicapped accessible cabin. The cabins are very popular and it's highly recommended that all reservations be made very early, as most are reserved one or more years in advance. Sorry, NO PETS are allowed.
Two nights for a 6 person cabin is $171.60 (tax included ) A week is $592.90

Country Hearth Inn - St.Helena Island: Great Hotel and is the CLOSEST TO THE BEACH
We found this hotel on our way out to Hunting Island State Park we were taking our family to the beach when we saw right in the heart of St.Helena that there was a hotel open. We stopped looked at the rooms and couldn't believe the price for the room. It was just opened last November and is just so beautiful out there and the rooms are so nice. I would reccommend this hotel to any family planning on going to Hunting Island for the weekend, its new, clean, and the price is very affordable.
Only hotel near Hunting Island State Park, all the other ones were 20 mins away.
Restuarant on property.
Nice little town with gift shops and historical sites.
