What is there to do?

by cruisemom

I will be there in June with a 14 and a 15 year old. They love the beach. Do you have any suggestions on where to go or a good place to eat?

It really depends on what area of Myrtle Beach you're planning on staying in, and what kind of food you guys like. Here's a few of my favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants though..

Handley's Pub and Grill is awesome, if you like all-American type food. It's in Carolina Forest, which is located between Myrtle Beach and Conway.

Bonefish Grill is a fantastic seafood place in North Myrtle Beach, but it's also a chain. So, if you want to stick with only local type places, I wouldn't recommend you go there. However, it is really really good.

Molly Darcy's On the Beach is another great place, that's perfect for lunch. It's also located in North Myrtle Beach.

On Sunset Beach, Joey O's is a really good pizza place (they also do delivery, if your condo/hotel/beach house is nearby).

Travel Tips for Myrtle Beach

Planet Hollywood at Myrtle Beach

by butterflykizzez04 about Planet Hollywood

This was very nice restaurant. It looks like a big world globe/planet on the outside and you have to climb alot of stairs to enter.

Once inside it is gorgeous. You are in the bar area immediately and then you descend into the eating area. Very gorgeous. The stairs are made of cheetah print material and lined with neon lights. There is a large buffalo located above you as you go down.

Along the walls are lots of Hollywood memoriablia. Which includes Tom Cruise jacket from 'Top Gun" and the outfits from the "Munster" show on TV. There is also some Terminator stuff, and outfit from the originial Flash.

Kids were very happy and pleased.

Hours: 11am to 11pm for restaurant I ordered a salad which was very good. I also ordered a non-alcoholic drink called "Pretty in Pink" so I could have a souvenir glass. My little girl ended up drinking most of it.

The kids had their usual chicken fingers and Shari had some type of mexican dish and a margarita.

Great place to chill and enjoy the beach

by TravelerFromTN

My family used to come to Myrtle Beach every summer when I was a kid. The last time I was here, though, was a few years back and I was struck by how things seemed run down and there wasn't much happening during that visit (which was also in the fall). This latest trip was great, though. The beach is always the main attraction for me; I don't golf. But there's plenty of places to go when it's raining or you're just not in the mood. Barefoot Landing is still there in North Myrtle Beach. The TIGER preserve and its exhibit at the landing is kind of a revelation. The Market Common looks like it will be an alternative to Broadway at the Beach; it's on the south side of town. I used to think there wasn't much to eat but Calaash Seafod, but now there's sushi bars, Brazilian Steakhouses and a number of alternatives. It's a great place to escape for a weekend, even if you don't golf or don't like fried seafood.
