Visit Charleston - it is perhaps the most charming city in the American south ... and the only city worth taking the time to visit in South Carolina ... There are numerous gardens and homes open to the public in the area ...
They have a great Aquarium there Also! I have 2 kids myself and the attractions in the Aquarium are attention grabbers for all ages. And of course on the beach itself lies an amusement park... Plenty of things for kids to do..

Especially on the 4th of July, if you go to the beach at night, the place is covered with fireworks people put off on their own. There are fireworks sold everywhere, and even on regular nights, you'll catch people putting them off on the beach. shared with friendly locals and a few beers, its definately something you must do at night.
Ripley's Aquarium is located at Broadway at the Beach. Move through a see-through tunnel while fish and sharks swim all around you. See ray sharks, dive shows, marine education presentations, creatures from the Amazon rain forest, octopus, sea dragons and thousands of colorful fish. Touch horseshoe crabs and rays.
Over the years, I've visited Myrtle Beach three times: '92, '95 and '04. I think what's lured me back is the fact that it's pretty reasonably priced to stay there for a week. Myrtle Beach isn't the hot spot that it used to be, as it shows in it's tired looking hotels and fun parks. There isn't really anything that makes Myrtle Beach stand out from other vacation spots either; there are water parks, amusement parks, restaurants, as many surf and souvenir shops that one could shake a stick at, outlet malls and a mini-golf park at every corner. But, there's always something to do and the beach is very nice. I've always had nice visits here and will definately consider coming back if I need a quick getaway to the beach.
