This isn't necessarily particular to Myrtle Beach, but, to me, the best lodging option when vacationing on the beach is to rent a condo or house, depending on the size of your group. This is especially applicable if you are traveling with a large number of people, because it allows all of you to stay in the same place. As opposed to a hotel room, you get your own kitchen, laundry machines, etc. It's more like a home away from home. Several Myrtle Beach rental agencies can be found on the web.

Myrtle Beach has tons of golf courses somewhere around 120 golf courses and 50 miniature golf courses. The miniature golf courses were the best I've seen-extremely detailed and lots of fun for the kids or the kid in you!

Birding at Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach is known as a very commercial beach resort but there actually are interesting birds and animals that can be seen on the beach here. There is also fairly good beach access and there is also a pier which can get you out into the ocean where you have a better chance of seeing porpoise and sea birds.
