Paradise Tower is a sure thing!

The Paradise Tower has above average amenities for a typical Myrtle Beach resort. The rooms are spacious and well furnished. Every room has a balcony directly facing the ocean. The property is kept reasonably clean considering the high traffic volume. The water park contains a sizeable lazy river, a large children's area with a pirate theme, large swimming pool, and several hot tubs. Sunbathers can choose to head out to the public beach or remain on the property on a grassy courtyard. Parking is available in a large garage across Ocean Boulevard. Several on-site restaurants provide easy access to good dining. The Red Parrot is a bar located on the rear of the first floor of the adjacant building overlooking the lazy river. Papa's is a more upscale dining experience located in the parking garage building across the street. Starbucks and an ice cream/pizza shop are also located on the lowel level of the parking garage.

Overall, this is one of the better resorts in the Myrtle Beach area. I would certainly recommend visiting the Paradise Tower, especially during the off-peak season during early May or late September when the weather is fabulous and the tourists are slightly less in number.

Unique Quality: The Breakers is conveniently located close to several major Myrtle Beach attractions, including Broadway at the Beach. The views of the ocean are fabulous from the tower. The 1 bedroom suites typically contain a pulldown bed in the living room overlooking the ocean...if you want to fall asleep to the sound of the ocean, pull that bed down and sleep in that room rather than the bedroom with the balcony door cracked. You will sleep like a hibernating bear.

Awesome Resort

The Breakers Resort is a large Resort on the north side of Myrtle Beach's "strip", and I'll tell you, this place has something for everyone... great grounds with pools and whatnot, also good bars and bands playing for those who come to play... the rooms are awesome, and they even have a matching color schemed building across the street that offers a Starbucks and nice dining..

Unique Quality: The unique quality is the overall atmosphere this place put out, a very entertaining spot to stay, the live bands and DJ reminded me a little of a Florida party....

More about The Breakers Resort

loved the Breakers Resort

by A TripAdvisor Member

August 2003 we took our second trip to Myrtle Beach and stayed at the Breakers and can't wait to go back, we would like to try different resorts but our stay was so wonderful were afraid to try anywhere else. The first time we went to MB in 1997 we stayed at the Bluewater and will never go back there it stinks everywhere and every thing is filthy there! Back to the Breakers, we were in the resort which is right beside the Paradise tower, we had an angle oceanfront view which the kids loved because while they waited for everyone to get ready to go out they were entertained by the people and cars going up and down the street (boys love cars),and we also had a great view of the ocean so we saw everything that was going on around us.

Overall Excellent

Just got back from a week at the Breakers Resort. I was a little leary that we had made a mistake, because we had read some bad reviews. We researched our vacation thouroughly beforehand. I must say we were very impressed with the resort and how there is so much to do for families. We didn't realize how family oriented Myrtle Beach actually is! My daughter and her family stayed at the KOA near Breakers and they loved it too. Even though it rained a couple days, it always stopped and didnt stop you from having a good time.

Great off season deal

Stayed in the Breakers Resort South Tower. Very nice room on 5th floor - great microwave, fridge, coffee pot and toaster. Bring your own coffee and filters. Nice view off balcony. Lazy river was big big hit with the kids. Several indoor pools available so great for the cold weather. Pools were in other bldgs, so did a quick dash between them - entrances were located so that this wasn't too difficult. Exercise room was small & crowded. Hotel staff were courteous and advised us up front that renting movies or making phone calls result in extra charges (we had none). Parked across the street in the parking deck. This time of year (january) crossing the road was simple. Might be a problem at busier times of the year. Ate across the street a Papas - it was OK.
Broadway at the Beach is very close and great entertainment/shopping.
Highly recommend the acquarium.

Never, Never Again

by TripAdvisor Member meac

We stayed at the Breakers Paradise Tower in July of 2002. First of all the gave us the wrong room despite making our reservation 7 months in advance. The hotel had only opened in March but it was filty and in disrepair. There were people smoking in the elevators, condom wrappers in the hall (which remained during our entire 8 day stay), food wrappers everywhere outside around the pool and lobby, and clothes and food under the beds in our room. Then they gave a child in our room a key to the room even though she had given them incorrect information as to whom the room was registered. Luckily she was in our party, but it goes to show all you really need is a room number to get a key to anyone's room at the resort. To add insult to injury our car was damaged when the car parked next to our was broken into in their "security monitored" parking garage. Oh, don't forget...you have to supply your own toilet paper because they only allot you half a roll even if you're in a three bedroom condo and you won't get any more no matter how many times you call the front desk.

Paradise Towers

The Paradise Tower is all that! My extended family stayed there for 4 days in September 2003. We took advantage of the beach, lazy river, pools, and jacuzzi's everyday. The rooms were very spacious and well maintained. I had a 3 bedroom suite on the 10th floor and it truly was a suite. My husband and I enjoyed the jacuzzi in the master bedroom.
The kids enjoyed having a TV in every bedroom and the living room. The ocean front view was outstanding. My family enjoyed this resort so much, that we are planning on returning in 2004.

Breakers was GREAT!

by A TripAdvisor Member

We stayed at the Breakers Tower and it was wonderful. We went with 11 families with people of all ages and not one family was dissatisfied.
The rooms were very clean and the service was great. The pools were very nice and considering it was right on the beach you didn't have to walk anywhere or worry about parking. Almost everything is within walking distance (resturants, shopping, clubs, golfing, etc..). I would highly recommend it for people of all ages.

Worn, but Family friendly

by TripAdvisor Member 236hokie

We were a bit surprised at the worn appearance of our room at check-in.
But after a trip to the Lazy River and pool with the kids, all was forgotten. We stayed in Room type T which fit our family of 5 just right. The maid service was so-so, but for us and kids, it didn't really matter. The weather was in the 60's (ealy April), but with the indoor heated pools, this wasn't a problem. Plenty of restaurant choices in walking distance as well as minigolf. We also took advantage of the reduced golf fees and reservation service in the lobby. I'd guess that the negative reviews were from people expecting a pristine, newer hotel with snappy attention. You won't get that, but when we had an emergency (overflowing toilet), the staff was gracious and helpful.

Beware!!

by A TripAdvisor Member

This "resort" nearly ruined our family vacation. We were put in a smoking room after requesting a non smoking room. This is especially problematic since I explained at the time of making reservations that my 7 yr old has asthma and a non smoking room was promised. When we arrived in our room I was even more disappointed. The toilet had no lid, the faucets and shower head were discolored and dirty, and the trim around the door way was literally decaying. The dead bolt did not lock, the balcony door was very difficult to open, and the air conditioner filled the room with such a horrendous odor that we didn't use it. The television didn't work either! Thankfully I was able to get reservations at another resort for the last 5 days of my trip, and only had to suffer through Breakers for 2 nights. The staff didn't even ask WHY I was leaving early, they knew! There were 4 people complaining in the lobby when we checked out. Never again-- BEWARE!
