Travel Tips for Myrtle Beach

The best home cooking, away from home

by etfromnc about Hoskins Restaurant

Excellent down-home cooking. Not too fancy. Not too expensive. Good but you probably will not meet the Trumps there. If you are going out for a night at Fat Harold's or Duck's, just down the street, they have some food sometimes but really they are more what we called "beer joints" when I was growing up so you might want to stop by Hoskins first.
Hoskins is open Tuesday - Sunday from 7 AM until 2:30 PM and on Tuesday through Saturday, they re-open for dinner from 4:30 until 9 PM.
They are not overly sophisticated but the food is great. Breakfast or BLTs after 11 AM

"ripley's believe it or not" is a museum of oddities that were collected by robert ripley. robert ripley was a cartoonist, explorer, and amateur anthropologist who collected unique artifacts and cultural oddities from around the world. this is one of several ripley museums in the u. s. today the ripley company also owns entertainment venues such as aquariums, and haunted houses. this museum is one of three ripley attractions in myrtle beach.

Myrtle Beach - Can't Wait to Go Back

by Tryla

"Captain's Quarters"

It was a long time ago that we drove for two days to arrive in Myrtle Beach but it was well worth the drive. The beach was wonderful and the Captain's Quarters hotel was great. Our son was about 8 years old at the time and he enjoyed himself making sandcastles, swimming in the ocean and playing golf at the wonderful miniature golf courses. Of course, shopping is wonderful and the food was very inexpensive. At the time we went, my son ate free at most restaurants.
