We're considering visiting Pawley's Island and staying at the Litchfield Plantation. Would appreciate any recommendations/information concerning this place. Also, would we enjoy Pawley's Island if we're interested in "r & r," golf, beach, scenic beauty, etc.? When's the best time to go during the year?
My husband and I stayed in Litchfield Plantation about 5 years ago and it is wonderful! Check out their website - it is accurate. Litchfield Plantation also has a beach house where you can park on Pawley's, which is very nice since there is no public parking on the island. I think this is perfect for what you are looking for; it's very relaxing, there's plenty of scenic beauty in the area (you may want to visit Huntington State Park which is not too far - it has a beautiful beach) and there's plenty of golf with Myrtle Beach nearby.
Feel free to email me if you have more questions (I live in Charleston which is about an hour away - also a beautiful place to visit)

We stayed there 4 years ago with my husband and we loved it... The best time right after Labor day... It is not crouded and sand is the soft and sandy there. If we ever go to Myrtle Beach area agane we would stay there...
