Cottage Inn Motel: Convenient Location

We only stayed in this motel for one night so we can only comment on the front desk and the state of our room when we entered it. Annette was very helpful giving us many suggestions and an approximation of how much time we would spend at each site. She also had the same maps that the Laura Ingalls Wilder Memorial Society passes out. Our room was clean and had literature of things to do in the area available. Our room cost around $70 for two double beds. The best thing about this motel was its convenience to all the sites.

Days Inn, Mitchell, South Dakota: Motel good for when you visit the "Little House"

This is a typical chain motel, but a nice one. We did not know there were any motels in De Smet (the AAA guide did not mention any), so we stayed in the Days Inn near Mitchell, South Dakota, off the highway.
The price was a bit higher than we usually paid, about 60 or 70$ for a double room, but this time we wanted one with an indoor pool and a jacuzzi. And we had both to ourselves! It was a nice stay.
The next day we drove to see the Little House in De Smet, it took about an hour to drive there from the Days Inn in Mitchell.

A nice indoor pool and jacuzzi.
