Rapid City and area in late Sept or October..weather?
We have an anniversary coming up at the end of October. My hubby has always wanted to see Mt. Rushmore and Devils Tower. We would be renting a car. So what kind of road conditions can we expect? Would September be better? We sure don't want to drive in Ice or snow.

End of October is very likely to see freezing temps and roads. End of September would be better, of course, but could still bring freezing temps, potentially. There's a reason the tourism drops off at about that time.

True. As a girl I remember getting snow in the Black Hills in July, and we were in pup tents.

Cosmos Mystery Area
This was interesting and unusual. There are freaks of nature and gravity happening here. They help it out with how things are built. Until you see this it is hard to imagine. I wish I had taken a level with me! I did enjoy it, but I thought it was over priced. The tour only lasted about 20 minutes on the outside and costs $9.50 per person. That was a bit steep for the whole thing.
