Hang Gliding
by soundsgoodtome
Although I have never been hang gliding myself, I would love to try it one day if I didn't get too nervous. I hear it is an awesome experience and is very safe. The Lookout Mountain Flight Park has been teaching people to hang glide since 1978 and if I am correct is one of the largest hang gliding schools in the country. They are located in North Georgia on the mountain, about 40 minutes from Chattanooga. I'm sure this would be a great experience for thrill seekers and nature lovers. Visit their website for all the info you could need.
A Chattanooga Tradition
by anderschwan about Bea's Restaurant
Bea's has been cooking for over 50 years. There's one price, $7.50 for all you can eat.
Food is served family style on a large circular table. The servers bring heaping bowls of food and place them on the Lazy Susans where you help yourself to food and iced tea(sweet tea - that's how it is down south). To drink, if you want anything other than water or tea, you have to get it from the vending machine.
Hours are 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM Wednesday through Sunday. Closed on Monday and Tuesday. The Fried Chicken. It is so good!
See 'Rock City'
by cjdoscher
While on the top of Lookout Mountain visit 'Rock City' and experience The Swinging Bridge, The Needles Eye, Fat Man's Squeeze, Mother Goose Village, and Lover's Leap for a nice view of the scenic valley below and supposedly 'see 7 states'.

Point Park - at the top of Lookout Mountain
Offering one of the best views of the city from Lookout Mountain, Point Park is a spot that must not be missed! It has a romantic, picturesque quality with relics from the Civil War such as cannons perched on cliffsides and a tall tower depicting scenes from the Battle of Chattanooga. Take a blanket, a picnic lunch, and a good book, or better yet, you're special someone. Makes a perfect Saturday afternoon retreat!
