Where you stay in Gatlinburg...

by JuliaL

Where you stay in Gatlinburg depends a lot on what you like to do. We enjoy spending time in the park and soaking in the beauty of the mountains, so we usually rent a cabin or chalet up in the mountains.

If you like to shop and eat in restaurants, there are several good hotels that are reasonably priced in Gatlinburg.

Heavenly Accommodations

by EarlyTimes2000 about Mountain Laurel Chalets

When coming to Gatlinburg, most people stay in Hotels in town. I must suggest staying in a chalet or cabin up on the mountain. Most have hot tubs on decks overlooking grand mountain views. All I have stayed in are clean , and effcient. In the winter months, or fall, they supply firewood. These chalets are truly a great experience. They are quiet , and relaxing way from the hustle and bustle of downtown. Splitting the cost with another couple or family, makes this truly affordable.

Crepes & Pancakes you could die for

by Darkeyedgirl about Pancake Pantry

The Pancake Pantry is prolly one of the oldest places in Gatlinburg... it's within walking distance of 'most' hotels, or you can park nearby. The food is so awesome, you can die afterwards with a big freaking smile on your face. The waitresses, all wonderful with that country twang and Southern hospitality. Coffee RULES there, too! It's a tiny place, but the line moves VERY quickly. uh... I start to drool when I think about... the peach crepes (or as I say, "Creeps"). mmm... peaches... see I'm drooling all over my keyboard now. The pancakes are incredible but their crepes... droooollll.... they have blueberry, raspberry, strawberry, cream cheese, chocolate chip, peach... just about whatever combo you want inbetween, served with whatever you want (eggies, sausage, bacon... coffee... etc.)... and the crepes are the size of your FACE. What's your favorite fruit?

Mt Rainier area motels/hotels

by RFS1947

I will be travelling in the Mt Rainier area in mid-June and was wondering where I might find a reasonably priced motel/hotel to stay. Any suggestions??

Hi,
You can stay right in the park. The Paradise Inn which is located in the center of the National park is a very basic. The rooms are not fancy but the location makes up for it. Phone 360 569 2275

Knowville-Gatlinburg transportation

by rmundt

hi there, Rick here. I will be visiting from Chicago and looking to visit Gatlinburg for 2-3 midweek days, but don't have a license. Any suggestions for inexpensive (not limos/taxis) transportation to/from Knoxville-Gatlinburg would be appreciated...i.e. shuttles, hotels, etc..thanks and also am interested in any must see sights ( solo traveler) and other attractions.

Murfreesboro

by jj70422

we will be visiting in early June and travel with a small dog.
Which of the "pet friendly" hotels would you recommend?
Apparently only Red Roof, HoJo Express and Ramada Limited take pets.
All have seemingly low prices and I can't help but wonder if they are offering good deals or they are run down hotels.

Any info would be apperciated.
Thanks.

Have you tried Hampton Inn? It has been my experience that Hampton Inn will allow small pets. Of the hotels you mentioned above, I would go with Ramada. Also, if you need doggie day care or grooming, Safari Pet Resort is wonderful. I have a friend whose dog goes there regularly for daycare & has so much fun he doesn't want to go home. I have also heard wonderful things about them from several other people. They are located at 1635 Lascassas Pike, Murfreesboro, TN 37130; 615-890-3732; safaripetresort.com.
Enjoy your visit!
