log cabin... hundreds to choose from

Hotels are great for if you want to be in town (or, if you have kids who will get bored in a cabin), but if you want to be SECLUDED... alone... with who you go to the mountains with? Rent a CABIN.

There's lots of different types; some are big, some are small; some are rustic, some are more like nice, new houses; some have pool tables & great views, some are very basic; some have hot tubs, some don't. Get it?

Just be sure you do your research! If you want a romantic litte lusty getaway with someone, call ahead and ask the cabin people to make sure you are secluded. You don't want to run around naked outside and have Junior next door saying, "look mom, those two are stuck like that!" or something horrific like that.

Ask For Seclusion... and you'll get it. Some of the cabins are kinda close to each other. Know what you're gettin, before you put down that deposit.

Unless you've got kids on this trip, I'd recommend a cabin.

Unique Quality: The plusses of staying in a cabin: hot tub on the deck (most have 'em); woodburning fireplaces; seclusion; being able to make your honey breakfast in bed (or grilling out and attracting bears... way-cool!); seclusion; relaxation; the views; seclusion; and even for those of you out there who are having a bum-time in a relationship? I betcha one weekend in a secluded cabin with a fire & hot tub & some wine, and you'll be all patched up. If not, then hey, at least you had a good time while it lasted.

  • Opinion of Price: more expensive than average
