The Old Bridge
by myrtle
The Memphis-Arkansas Bridge is also known as the old bridge. Clearly, it's been around longer than the Hernando-Desoto bridge. It's not quite as pretty to look at, but it is useful when there is a lot of traffic or an accident on the new bridge. They'll usually tell you on the news to take it as an alternate route.

This great little (emphasis: LITTLE) winery is just northeast of Memphis and I highly recommend it if you love wine! They have wine tastings, tours, and a little gift shop that sells everything from Cordova Cellars wine glasses to pastas to gift baskets. When my husband and I went in June, we were the only people on the 'tour.' Some tour with only two people, but hey, we got 'special service!' The wines they make are great!! The only disadvantage: if you want to purchase their wine, you have to do it right then and there; TN law prohibits shipping alcohol over their state lines. So, stock up while you're there!

Every Wednesday night from summer to the last week of October is bike night on Beale Street. They have some very expensive bikes, and some not to expensive. I'm setting on a 1963 Honda that cost the owner $35.00.
Want some Italian?
by Murderjunkie666 about The Spaghetti Warehouse
this place is awesome... a little pricey but the food and service is worth it. it is downtown, close to beale street and the lorraine motel. it's set in an old warehouse, and inside there is an old trolley car that you can dine in. the food is outstanding...typical italian food but WAY better than macaroni grill or olive garden. everything is made fresh, even the bread. the waiters and waitresses are so nice.. they will pretty much do anything you or give you anythign you ask without being pushy like at most places.. you must try this place if you want to splurge... i love the whole menu
Payne's
by anne_h about Payne's
We were going to get ribs, but they were out, so we had these sandwiches instead, and I am glad we did. It's basically shredded barbecued pork on a bun. Also, they put cole slaw on top of the pork, right in the sandwich. Delicious. My boyfriend came here years ago when he was a vegetarian, and he ordered the one fish item. THe proprietors, both African-Americans, looked at each other knowingly and said, 'Oh yes, the white-boy sandwich.' the pulled-pork sandwich
