I have not stayed here but I took the picture to commemorate the songs that are referenced. The song was written by Tommy Durden who was inspired by a newspaper story about a man who killed himself and left behind a note saying only, "I walk a lonely street." Another Nashville songwriter named Mae Boren Axton wrote the music.
Elvis performed the song in 1955, and it became a hit (his first #1 hit on the Billboard pop charts) after Elvis performed it on The Dorsey Brothers TV show in 1956.

Unique Quality: I'm not quite sure why anyone would want to stay in a hotel that was named for such a sad song. I doubt if it dates back to 1956 - it probably opened after Graceland was opened to tourists in 1982.
Rooms are $99-104 for a double.
The hotel calls itself
a 128-room boutique hotel adjacent to Graceland. Retro-kitsch in style, Heartbreak Hotel guest rooms feature circa-1950s blond wood furnishings and bedspreads in a blue-and-gold harlequin print. Each guest room includes a kitchenette with refrigerator and microwave.
Heartbreak Hotel also contains four theme suites:
* The Graceland Suite - a scaled-down version of Graceland Mansion
* Hollywood Suite - Art-Deco furnishings evoke the golden age of Hollywood and honor Elvis' film career
* The Gold & Platinum Suite - celebrates the recording career of the single best-selling musician in history
* The Burning Love Suite - over-the-top romance, with a preponderance of crimson velvet upholstery
Heartbreak Hotel has a heart-shaped outdoor swimming pool, in use during warmer months.

myself and my husband stayed at the Heartbreak Hotel in Memphis and we loved every minute of our stay.the hotel is wonderful 24 hours a day elvis music and 24 hours a day elvis movies which myself and my husband loved.i would reccommend this hotel to anyone the service was excellent the breakfast was great every morning as you get it free.you also get a free airport shuttle there and back and also a free shuttle to beale street and sun studios which is well worth a look.our favourite bit of the trip was Graceland it was worth all the travelling from england to see elvis home we loved everything about memphis we stopped at a lovely cafe called rockn roll cafe next door to the heartbreak hotel it was excellent.if you are looking for elvis souveniers take a look at the graceland outlet store which is near graceland excellent value for money.MEMPHIS ROCKS XXX
Unique Quality: we had a wonderful view over the pool at the heartbreak hotel,the jungle room is lovely at night to have a beer or a cocktail in.the breakfasts or excellent as you can choose to make your own waffles or just have a coffee if you like.

Didn't actually stay in the hotel but had a look inside. Because Graceland is situated in a quite remote area you would have to be a big fan to want to stay here - possibly just for one night which would give you enough time to do Graceland which is surpisingly untacky.

Great atmosphere for a hotel. Elvis music playing as you enter the hotel. A lovely help yourself breakfast, where you can even make your own waffles! There is a little gift shop selling authentic merchandise. Also the Jungle Bar where you can get a drink and great cocktails. The perfect place to meet other Elvis Fans. Superb location, across the street from Graceland, what more could you want?
Unique Quality: There is a lovely swimming pool in the shape of a heart!
There is also a 24 hour Elvis tv channel, showing films and documentaries.
They also have a courtesy bus service that runs throughout the day to sun studios and beale street and back. Very handy.

Located next to the entrance of Graceland, this hotel offers 128 rooms and suites, a bar/cafe, and a small shop in the lobby. Recently purchased by the Elvis estate, it has been in the process of renovation, from a family-style budget hotel to a designer boutique hotel, but the prices are still reasonable.
Unique Quality: It has a heart-shaped pool, and a number of themed suites, designed after themes in Elvis' life (inc. the Hollywood premier suite, and the Jungle Room).

We have stayed here for 3 nights.
The hotel is very nice. Good and clean rooms.
There is a breakfast in the morning and in the evenig there is a bar where you can drink nice cocktails.
Good place to stay
Unique Quality: There is a pool, a shuttle to downtown Memphis and places to see.
Right across the street is Graceland.
You have a TV channel with 24 hours of Elvis films and in the hotel is at the background music of Elvis Presley.

Hotel was not much to look at from the outside but once you got inside it was impressive. Our room was fairly clean but stunk of smoke! We were there 4 nights from 4th Feb. It was frezzing! We went to graceland twice was amazing. We went to the mall three times - wolfechase and oaks. The peabody mall was rubbish! Got loads of designer clothers cheap! Email me if you would like any advice or questions!
I stayed at the Heartbreak Hotel during the Christmas holiday from December 24-27 and was so disappointed. The front desk clerks were the most unfriendly ones I've ever seen. I've stayed at hotels all across the country and have never had this problem. Tennessee is known for our hospitality, but I didn't feel welcome. Where do they think their money comes from if not for tourists? As if that weren't bad enough, the bedspread had semen stains on it. It took 2 days for the maid to change it. I will never stay there again. This was the worst travel experience I've ever had and ruined my Christmas.
I thought it was wonderful. The hotel was the best. I was right across the street from Graceland. It was very nice.the maids were very nice. I am going again very soon.I told all of my friends about my trip.If your a Elvis fan you really need to go!!!!!
