Help with packing my case please.

by Denxxx

We are coming to Memphis next week and even though I have tried to look up the weather it all seems a bit confusing on what to pack. Please could someone who is in Memphis now, tell me not in celcius but in 'Staight talk' how to dress. Is it t-shirt weather or long sleeve and do i need a jacket or warm coat and of an evening can i wear little tops? We are going on the dinner cruise one night, although i am worried about that now after reading an answer to someone elses question! Please someone tell me the trip is good!!! How should i dress for that? Thanx

You should be fine with lightweight clothing most of the time. But bring a lightweight jacket or sweatshirt for evenings and for the cruise. It can get windy on the river, so even if it's a warm evening, you might get a bit chilled. Have a wonderful time!

I had all of my windows open all day until about 6 when it got chilly.
Very nice days but sometimes a long-sleeved shirt is needed due to the wind.I would carry a light weight jackt at night just incase. Jeans because for me it is not warm enough for shorts and it may seem chillier due to the rain. So Jeans, light weight jacket, light weight long-sleeved shirts, a few T shirts, Little tops are ok for an evening out with a stylish jacket. I don't know about the cruise, sorry.
I hoped this helped

Travel Tips for Memphis

Elvis Live in Concert (February 1977)

by Elena_007

Thanks to my dear friend Steve, (NC_Ziggy here on Virtual Tourist) for sending me some wonderful photographs of Elvis in concert. These photographs were taken approximately 6 months prior to the legendary performer's untimely death. These photographs are rare indeed, as Vernon Presley is also in attendance at the concert in Charlotte, North Carolina. His Father is standing right in front of the stage, clearly Elvis' biggest fan. It is very heartwarming to see the joy and pride in both of their faces as Elvis performs.

Please visit Steve's Memphis page for a rare glimpse back in time at the life of a world legend. - NC_Ziggy's Memphis Travel Page

Beale Street

by Tom_Fields about Beale Street in Memphis, Tennessee

This is the historic street in downtown Memphis, memorialized in song and countless stories and movies. The most famous club is of course B.B. King's. For a flat fee, you can get a pass granting access to all the other clubs. The music is mainly blues and rock. Beale Street is reasonably safe. Depends on where you go. Generally casual.

Transports of Delight

by bottlebank about Marlowe's

Lovely decor.
Lively bar.
Excellent menu and delicious food, specialising as you may have guessed, in ribs and steaks.

I would thouroughly recommend this place but the icing on the cake is they provided a chauffeur driven pink limo to take us fto and from our hotel. I believe this service is available to all the hotels in the airport vicinity.

THE most fun restaurant to eat...

by AABrewer

THE most fun restaurant to eat in is
'BRAVO! Ristorante' in the Adams Mark Hotel.
Live singing, live piano everynight.
Bit pricey....but terrific atmosphere!!
The live singing and piano is really a mood
setter. You can make requests for
special songs. All the wait staff sings...
just wait till your waiter hits the
music!!! I have loved everthing I have ordered here!
