Weather in November

Hi we are travelling to Memphis and Nashville on an orgaised holiday and want to know what the weather will be like so that I know what clothes to pack, we live in the north of england so can be prepared for most weather conditions.

Also eating out is it expensive? and is it easy to get to restaurants, I have been reading the notices with regard to safety at night but what about during the day?.

Look forward to your replies

As a memphis native i'd say thats about right ;)

Where are you staying?

Depends on where you want to eat...low,mid and expensive all in mem.
Easy to get to restaurants depending on what you want, and where you're located/staying.

Like any city, just watch your stuff and be aware of people around you and you'll be fine...especially during the day.

Be glad to recommend any restaurant if you want to PM me.

The above website does show the average, however I would suggest using it only for a general guide, and then re-post your question in October to see what the trend is then.

I've seen it in the 70's and I've seen it in the 20's mother nature can throw some real 'curve balls' that time of year.

As to eating out, no shortage of good places. Price range is from very low to as high as you want. No matter what you must try the Memphis BBQ!! However I'll warn you, it's a bit spicy compared to English food. ;-)

Just look at before you go, easiest way to find out what the weather islike that week.
Food depends on where you are staying; if you are staying downtown there are plenty of places within walking distance that are open all day. The further out from downtown you go, the less accessible restaurants are by foot. Where will you be staying in Memphis?
Memphis is as safe as you make it. It's a bigger city with a ton of crime, but most crime is minor (theft, car break-ins, etc). Just use common sense and try not to look like a tourist...seriously, if you look like you're from out of town, that's when you have problems. Especially downtown/midtown.

Lisa Marie Keeps Graceland in $100 Million Deal

by Elena_007

News dated December 16, 2004.

Lisa Marie Presley sold 85% of her interests in EPE (Elvis Presley Enterprises) for $100 million, but will retain the title to Graceland mansion, the 13 .6 acres, and all her father's personal effects. Tour operations will continue business as usual, and Lisa will certainly have a very Merry Christmas this year. For the full story, see the website below.

Police Museum on Beale Street....

by Maryt1948

Police Museum on Beale Street. Take 10 minutes for a walk thru it.

Also, just a few more blocks away is the Lorraine Motel, the site where Martin Luther King was slain. It is now a Civil Rights Museum and a wondeful lesson in humanities and history for every citizen.

Definitely the most comfortable way to get here. The coach is a lot more comfortable than on any bus or plane, plus you have a dining car, a cafe car and a lounge car. Can't beat it. Unless you're willing to pay for a sleeper car, but that's expensive.

BB King's Blues Club

by Liz10052 about BB King's Blues Club

While this is mostly a music club, they do serve food, and the food is great. Even better, you get to listen to some fantastic blues while you eat :-) Ribeye steak with mac and cheese. And you have to try the fried PB&J for dessert!

Try the "dry-rub" BBQ

by spartan about The Charles Vergos Rendezvous

Located close to the Peabody Hotel (of the marching ducks fame) in downtown Memphis, this places offers excellent food at good prices. The rendezvous' pork ribs are legendary, as are the wisecracking waiters and the vintage Memphis decor. again, it's the ribs, but also chicken, beef, shrimp and the fixin's.
